Privacy Policy

Who we are

Paulista Pizza ("we", "us", "our") operates this website and ordering system from 121 Upper Dorset Street Lower, Phibsborough, Dublin, Co. Dublin, D01 H0F9. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data when you order food for delivery or collection, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), enforced in Ireland by the Data Protection Commission (DPC).

What information we collect

• Your name, phone number and, if you give it, your email address
• Your delivery address and the distance/zone used to calculate the delivery fee, for delivery orders
• Your order details — items, prices, any notes you add
• Whether your order has been paid and which payment method you chose. We never see or store your card number — that is collected directly by our payment processor, Stripe

Why we use it, and our legal basis

• Fulfilling your order — preparing, delivering or handing over your food and keeping you updated on its status. This is necessary to perform our contract with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
• Accounting and tax records — issuing receipts and keeping the records Irish tax law requires us to keep. This is a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
• Fraud prevention — protecting the security of online payments using Stripe's built-in fraud-prevention tools. This is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Marketing — we do not currently send marketing emails or SMS. If we do in future, it will only be to customers who separately opt in (Art. 6(1)(a)), and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum data needed with the providers who help us run this service: Stripe (payment processing) and Vercel (website hosting). These providers are contractually required to protect your data and may only use it to provide their service to us. Some of them may process data outside the European Economic Area; where that happens, it is covered by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Cookies and local storage

• One strictly necessary cookie keeps staff signed in to our internal order-management system — customers placing an order do not receive this cookie.
• Your shopping cart and delivery/collection preference are stored only in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers, until you place an order.
• When you pay online, Stripe may set its own cookies to detect fraud and secure the transaction, under Stripe's own privacy policy.
• We do not use any advertising, analytics or social-media tracking cookies.

How long we keep your data

We keep order and payment records for as long as Irish Revenue requires for accounting and tax purposes (currently 6 years). Other information is kept only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and deleted or anonymised afterwards.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it (subject to our legal obligation to retain financial records), object to or restrict certain processing, and request a copy of your data in a portable format.

To use any of these rights, email us at privacy@paulista.ie. We will respond within one month, as required by law. You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission if you believe we have not handled your data properly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
